A short one today just like my ability to run.
Here’s a little update on my running progress. I’ve now run 3 half marathons in total or at least the length. My friend has convinced me that 15 miles isn’t too bad. Now it isn’t until my hamstrings seize up and my knees start to hurt. I’ve found that after a certain point, running like a lot of life’s education boils down to a point where nothing feels good and nothing feels right. What I mean is now 6 miles feels like an easy breeze but after 8 I feel like I could flop over and die at any point. My heart rate is good, my breathing is fine and my pace is slow enough for me to hold a conversation the whole time, it’s my legs. My size could be a factor as a 6’4 240 pound man. I’m not small. I’m going on a diet to help this. Another limiting factor is my recovery. Instead of letting my body rest and hydrating I pound a bunch of beer and get little sleep. So now it is diet and recovery mode. I’m hoping this helps. I’m sure it will. This week alone in the last 5 days I’ve now done over 28 miles. I feel like I’m not advancing in my running technique but only time can tell me that. I’ll update again when I feel better and when I can run again. Right now my hamstrings say otherwise.
