The lady who didn’t fear death

I met this lady once. She didn’t fear death. I couldn’t understand why. You see, I fear the thought of death. I don’t like to think about an endless darkness. Her however, she saw it as a release. A lift to a burden of a life she couldn’t choose. It scared me, for it was so peculiar. The lady who didn’t fear death.
I still remember the day she walked into my office and told me the news. The doctors said it wouldn’t spread. Her spirits were high and she had a smile on her face. It scared me again, the lady who didn’t fear death.
I guess I shouldn’t be sad then as I look at the gravestone. For they are the happiest I’ve ever seen them. The lady who didn’t fear death.
